A screen says it is not turned on for me¶
What you're seeing¶
You open a screen and instead of the thing you expected, it tells you that you do not have access, and to ask an administrator.
Why it happens¶
Access is granted, not assumed. Screens that hold money, accounts or configuration are available to the roles that need them rather than to everyone. Being refused is the design working.
It is about the role, not you personally. The question is "can an accountant reach Reconciliation?" rather than "can Priya?".
What to do¶
- Read what the screen says. It usually names what you are missing and who can give it.
- Check you are signed in as yourself — a shared terminal may still be signed in as whoever used it before, which produces exactly this.
- Ask an administrator if the access is genuinely part of your job. That is a deliberate decision someone makes, not a switch to flip in passing.
The similar-looking cases that are not this¶
A missing button may be a permission, or may be the screen not offering that action in the state it is in. The wording tells you which.
A supervised action is different again: not refused, but needing someone's approval first. You will be asked, rather than turned away.
