Payment settings

Which ways of paying your restaurant accepts, and two rules about how a bill may be settled.

Payment modes

The tender types offered at the till — cash, card, credit or on-account, and whatever else you take. Until one is added the screen says so rather than showing an empty list.

A mode can be enabled or disabled rather than removed, so a method you stop taking for a while does not lose its history.

The two rules, and what they do today

Allow partial payment — whether a bill may be settled for less than its total, leaving a balance.

Allow splitting a bill across modes — whether one bill may be paid partly by cash and partly by card.

Both save, and neither is applied yet. The billing screen does not consult them, so changing either will not change what a cashier can do at the till. Set them to reflect your intent by all means — they will take effect when the billing side reads them — but do not rely on them to restrict anything today.

What a cashier can actually do is what the payment screen offers, which includes a split option. See Take payment for a bill.
