I can't sign the day off

What you're seeing

The Day Close screen is open, but the sign control will not let you use it.

Why it happens

Something on the blocking checklist is outstanding. The button names how many items are still in the way rather than simply refusing, so the count tells you how much is left.

Work through it in this order

  1. Read the checklist. Anything marked as blocked is what is stopping you.
  2. Fix each on the screen it belongs to — an open shift in Shift & Cash Control, an undeclared drawer count with whoever held the drawer, an unfinished kitchen ticket on the display, an unacknowledged alert in Operations. The checklist tells you what; the fixing happens elsewhere.
  3. For anything you are carrying rather than resolving, write the note. A carried item with an empty note box will not let you sign — this is the most common reason the button stays unavailable when the list looks clear.

The item that catches people

A carried item needs its written reason before the day can close. It looks resolved because it is no longer marked blocked, but an empty note holds the close just as firmly.

Before you sign

A signed business date cannot be reopened or edited — the screen says so above the button. If the figures do not look right, that is a reason to stay open, not to sign and correct later.
